We are proud to introduce Nancy and Ed Brown as the Co-Chairs of our 2024 Campaign, one we proudly refer to as our Legacy Campaign—a special moment in time where we look forward to celebrating those like Nancy and Ed who have made a lasting impact on our community and are poised to do so again.

Nancy and Ed are the founders and owners of Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa in Mentor and Lyndhurst at Legacy Village. They are also the owners of The Brown Aveda Institutes in Mentor and Strongsville, and the Casal Aveda Institute in Niles. They employ over 250 team members across their organization and believe in giving back to the communities they serve.

Nancy is the President, and she is a passionate advocate for environmentalism, programs that assist those in need, and service to her community.

Ed is the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for overseeing the financial operations, human resources, and information systems of the corporations, as well as managing the administration of three institutes.

Both Nancy and Ed have served on a multitude of nonprofit boards and taken on leadership roles for various causes. They have received numerous awards and accolades for their contributions to our community, particularly in the areas of environmental and humanitarian efforts, as well as their work to support students through scholarships.

Nancy and Ed are no strangers to the role of United Way of Lake County Campaign Co-Chairs, where they first served in 2009, leaving an indelible mark during a very different time than the times we face today.

Reflecting on their decision to return, Nancy and Ed shared, "Serving as Co-Chairs for United Way of Lake County's 2024 campaign is a true honor for us. Having held this role fifteen years ago in 2009, we are even more inspired today by the incredible spirit of our community. Our love for Lake County and our commitment to making a difference have only deepened over the years. It’s a privilege to give back to a place that means so much to us, and we are excited to work alongside the team at United Way, their board, our campaign cabinet, and the many volunteers, organizations, agencies, and businesses in our community  to build a brighter future for our neighbors in need."

Their return as Legacy Campaign Co-Chairs is not just a homecoming but a powerful statement about the enduring commitment they have to Lake County. With their experience, leadership, and unwavering dedication, Nancy and Ed are poised to guide this campaign toward a future where everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive.

According to Ed, "What I admire most about United Way of Lake County is their unwavering transparency and the trust they’ve built in our community. When we come together and pool our resources, the impact we’re able to make is far greater than what any one person or company could achieve alone. It’s a powerful reminder of the strength in unity and the difference we can make when we work together. I’m proud to serve an organization that truly amplifies the generosity of our community.”

Nancy added, "As someone who has called Lake County home for so many years, I am deeply passionate about making a real, lasting impact right where we live, and serving in this role gives me the chance to contribute to the well-being of our community in a meaningful way. It’s about coming together to support one another and create a brighter future for everyone. I’m honored to be part of this effort and excited to see the positive change we can achieve together."

Please join us with Nancy and Ed Brown and our 2024 Campaign Cabinet members as they lead our Legacy Campaign, carrying forward a tradition of making a lasting difference in Lake County. Together, we impact lives.
