Nominations Open Through October 10th for the Emerging Leaders 2024 “4 Under 40” Young Professional Awards
 

 

Mentor, OH (September 18, 2024)United Way of Lake County’s Emerging Leaders are now accepting nominations for the seventh annual “4 Under 40” Young Professional Awards. Nominations are open through October 10, 2024.

The "4 Under 40" awards recognize and commend Lake County’s best and brightest outstanding young professionals for their hard work and achievements in the areas of leadership, community involvement, entrepreneurship, and professional accomplishment.

Nominees must live or work in Lake County and must be between the ages of 21- 40 years old during the year ending December 31, 2024.

The selection process is based on a blind rubric scoring process, meaning neither the nominees nor those who nominated them will be known to the judges. The four winners will be honored at an awards ceremony in January 2025.

“Every year, we’re inspired by the incredible young talent in our community,” said Emerging Leaders’ Chair Brad Shimko of Martinet Recchia CPA. “These awards give us a chance to celebrate the future leaders of Lake County and their amazing contributions.”

Last year’s awards, held at The Everly in Mentor, drew 180 supporters who enjoyed appetizers and drinks while celebrating the 2023 winners: Sara Bals of 440 Marketing and the Lake County Development Council, Lindsay Defeo of Leolo Hospitality, Andie Musial of Lakeland Community College, and Anna Dey, owner of several local businesses, including Smoothie King and Clean Eatz, and Founder & Director of The 24 in 24.

United Way of Lake County President & CEO Dione DeMitro emphasized the importance of the Emerging Leaders' contributions to the organization’s mission, saying, “The Emerging Leaders are a vital part of our work. Their dedication to developing young professionals and engaging them in meaningful community work helps us extend our impact even further. These awards shine a light on the remarkable talent and drive that will lead Lake County into the future.”

The mission of the Emerging Leaders is to be a catalyst for change in the lives of Lake County youth through leadership, advocacy, knowledge, and education to facilitate positive behaviors that will create tomorrow’s leaders.
