United Way of Lake County Raffling off 2023 Nissan Sentra SV Compliments of Mentor Nissan to Raise Funds to Benefit Community

Mentor, OH (July 20, 2019) –  United Way of Lake County (UWLC) is currently hosting a car raffle fundraiser to benefit Lake County children, families, and seniors in need.

The raffle winner will receive their choice of a 2023 Nissan Sentra SV or $15,000 cash. Anyone who purchases $100 in tickets during one single transaction will also be entered into a second raffle for a chance to win $1,000.

Raffle tickets are $10 each with quantity discounts available. They can be purchased online through August 20, 2023, at uwlc.org/wincar, where complete details can be found.

Ten finalists will be drawn on August 25, 2023, and invited to attend UWLC’s Campaign Kickoff Luncheon on August 30, 2023, at Springbrook Gardens in Mentor, where each will receive a key to the car’s ignition. The finalist whose key turns on the car will win. The winner of the $1,000 will also be drawn and announced at this time.

The Nissan Sentra was donated by Ray Sminchak, General Manager/Managing Partner of Mentor Nissan, who served as a volunteer member of UWLC’s 2022 campaign cabinet. Mentor Nissan is also providing a $15,000 cash option should the winner wish to take home the cash in lieu of the car.

Mentor Nissan believes that giving back to the community is not just a responsibility, but a privilege. Sminchak states, “We look to make impactful contributions within our local community. Many of our core values align with United Way of Lake County and its mission.”

According to UWLC President and CEO Dione DeMitro, “We recognize the critical role that collaboration plays in making a difference and are incredibly grateful to Mentor Nissan and Ray for their commitment to our cause of impacting the lives of our community’s most vulnerable residents.”

UWLC relies on partnerships and the support of local businesses, organizations, agencies, and residents to make an impact. They serve only the residents of this community, so all donations made in Lake County stay in Lake County.

Last year over 67,000 services were provided to Lake County residents thanks to those who give. Types of services provided include medical and dental care for the uninsured and underinsured, mental health counseling, mentors, books and reading programs for children, refuge and care for survivors of domestic abuse, shelter for the homeless, and more.

“There are many ways to give back and lend a hand up, and the purchase of raffle tickets is a fun, simple way to do so,” said UWLC Director of Marketing and Communications Tami Lewis.
